Die Band wurde in Ottawa, Kanada, im Jahr 2008 gegründet. Bandmitglieder sind Steve Marriner auf Gesang, Baritongitarre, Mundharmonika, Hammond Orgel ; Tony D. (Tony Diteodoro) auf Leadgitarre; Und Matt Sobb auf Schlagzeug und Schlagzeug Marriner

MonkeyJunk war ein häufiger Sieger bei den Maple Blues Awards , und das Album Album "To Behold" gewann den 2012 Juno Award für Blues Album des Jahres .Die Band hatt einen dichten Tourenplan, der über Kanada hinweg in die USA und auch nach ganz Europa führt.
